Jeff Plungis is a writer, analyst and advisor with deep experience in the auto industry, transportation, road safety and technology.

 

Plungis launched his own consulting firm, Transport Politic Communications, in 2020 and has worked on public relations strategy for Toyota, Norfolk Southern, Clarios and a number of automotive technology start-ups.

 

Before his communications career, Plungis worked as a journalist for three decades, including four years as Lead Automotive Investigate Reporter at Consumer Reports. He also covered transportation for Bloomberg News in Washington and was a Washington Correspondent for the Detroit News. He previously covered Congress and New York State politics. He began his career working for state government in Ohio.

 

A native of Cincinnati, Plungis has an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and a master’s in journalism from NYU.
