Sandy Sinclair

Sandy Sinclair recently founded Collaborative Safety Solutions LLC after completing a 25-year career at the U.S. Department of Transportation where his final position was as a Senior Transportation Specialist in the Secretary’s Office of Public Engagement in Washington, D.C. In this position, he crafted and hosted Secretarial engagements with stakeholders from all modes of transportation, and conducted extensive partner outreach to expedite access to Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding.


Throughout his time at USDOT, especially at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) from 1999-2019, he conducted extensive partner and stakeholder outreach, especially in conjunction with the Department’s efforts to protect the traveling public from preventable roadway crashes.

An experienced communications professional, Sinclair served as a speechwriter, conducted media events, oversaw public service advertising campaigns and developed and oversaw programs to increase safety among communities of color and low-income families.Prior to joining USDOT, Sinclair oversaw grassroots injury prevention programming and community coalition development for nearly a decade at the National Safe Kids Campaign in Washington, D.C.Earlier in his career, he promoted primary health care as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in an isolated mountain village in the Philippines and then served as a Public Affairs Specialist at Peace Corps headquarters in Washington, D.C.A Southern California native, while earning his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles, he worked to improve educational opportunities for minority and troubled youth in Southern California.
