Torine Creppy

Board Member

Torine Creppy followed her personal and professional passions and dedicated her career to making the world a safer place for children. In her role as President of Safe Kids Worldwide—a global nonprofit working to reduce unintentional injuries to children—Torine works with legislators, donors, community leaders, and peer organizations to develop and implement strategic initiatives, create partnerships, and inspire behavior change to keep children safe. A passionate advocate on Capitol Hill, she is especially committed to finding new ways to reach under resourced communities and to ensuring equity in child safety.

Torine is a tireless champion for children and families: She serves on the boards of directors of the Capital Area YMCA and the St. John’s Community Services. She is chair of the diversity, equity, and inclusion committee of The International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO) and works with many other organizations, including Lifesavers, the National Carbon Monoxide Awareness Association, and Hop Skip Drive Equitable Access to Transportation Advisory Council.

A lifelong resident of Prince Georges County, Maryland, Torine is a proud graduate of Morgan State University in Baltimore and a current graduate student at LSU-Shreveport. One her first jobs after college was as a reporter for The Baltimore Sun, and she is excited to share her passion for the news business with young journalists.

In her personal time, Torine volunteers for homeless and food insecurity initiatives, and enjoys reading autobiographies, running 5K marathons for causes, mentoring young people, and spending time with her teenage son. She and her family live in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
